Hi,
I'm based in Bedfordshire
UK in a small town called Leighton Buzzard.
In the early years of my
career I somehow managed to end up as
a glassblower, designing and creating
glass figurines and other giftware. After
20 years I have just recently decided
to quit this so that I can concentrate
fully on my graphic design work.
Onto the graphics...
I've always been interested
in graphics, so when I bought my first
PC computer in 1990 I started playing
around with all the various computer graphic
software. Originally I used to experiment
with Poser, Bryce and Photoshop to see
what weird and wonderful creation I could
come up with. Some of my original images
I've uploaded into my galleries.
In the mid nineties I landed a job
working for a logo mat company where I used to
redraw company logos and convert them into a vector
illustrations ready to be plotted out full size
for production. As an estimate, over the 7 years
I worked for this company I manually converted
over 10,000 company logos into vector formats.
Early 2004 this company
moved location which prompted me to use
my experience working with logos and go
it alone working from home as a Freelancer
Logo Designer. The first year was a real
struggle but perseverance has paid off
and I now receive regular commissions
for logo design work and vector graphic
conversions.
I've developed quite a
wide range of graphic design skills over
the years, from stationery design, flyer
design, 3D graphics, Flash animation,
web sites, banners, but I now prefer to
stick to what I'm the most experienced
at, logo conversions and logo design.
I designed and built this web site and
many others, but I find it can get too
involved with clients wanting dynamic
e-commerce sites that need updating on
a regular basis. I prefer to concentrate
just on the Logo/Stationery Design and
Vector conversions.
I've now designed from scratch
over 500 logos to individuals and companies
Worldwide. I enjoy what I do and I'm finding
the more experience I gain the easier
it is to understand the type of logo my
customers require. I don't always get
it right first time though, but I usually
get there in the end.
Software I use is industry
standard Adobe Illustrator CS2.
Thanks for taking an interest!
